Married ~ Hannah and Jimmie

Note: Please excuse my awkward branding back and forth as I make my transition and try to keep up with my work as well!! Read more about my self conflict here! HA ;)

Anyway, I met Hannah as another link through my job at Starbucks, as her fiance at the time was one of my regular customers, looking for a photographer for their small family wedding.

I was so happy to do this wedding. It was very different from any other wedding I've been to--very small and intimate, which resulted in a very romantic afternoon! They had the ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs, and from there we went to the park downtown for some fun photos. I decided I wouldn't share ceremony photos because of this, but I'll share with you some of my favorite shots of the "newly married" session (+some) right afterward!!

Ok... ONE shot from the ceremony.. the classic first kiss :)

New Branding!!

So, I've been having a bit of trouble finding the PERFECT branding font to use. I've been going back and forth between several different fonts, but I feel like some of my photography is sooo broad and diverse, that almost anything will fit!! So I decided to take several fonts, do a little bit of self discovery, and find what really suits ME, and what I would be most comfortable with presenting as my own branding, as a professional, simple, tasteful look... something that ADDS to the photo instead of distracting away from it (as you've probably noticed in previous posts) and I think I found what I'm looking for.

I decided to present my finding in some of my favorite form of photographs, and the reason I first started to do photography: simplistic landscape and storm shots. Hope you enjoy!!

Model ~ Susanne

Susanne is one of my many facebook followers who often commented on my shared images with such uplifting words. I love getting the feedback from people who follow me and saying how beautiful my work is... it really means a LOT to me and it inspires me to give out even more mind-blowing work through the next session.

Anyway, so when Susanne emailed me with interest of doing a shoot, I was most definitely down! I want to give my clients the best that I can give them, so we worked through our schedules, figured out which day was best, which location was best, and we had so much fun and so much success that the shoot seriously lasted like... what, two and a half hours? It was a long while gone by in an instant.

Susanne hasn't modeled much before, but she is a beautiful woman and hardly needs to put in the effort.

I look forward to doing several other shoots in the future with her!

Bridal Session ~ Darlene

Beautiful bridal session that I'm JUST allowed to share. Darlene was married to Aaron Boggs on July 24th, 2010. She didn't want anyone to see her dress until then, so I had to wait until I posted these photos. Good thing I'm behind on posts otherwise it would have been way too much for me to hold back these images.

We went up to Brush Canyon Ranch in Rye, Colorado, where she and Aaron were to say their vows. What a beautiful evening it was. Again, I wanted to use dramatic lighting (and I think I would for any bridal session), and it was perfect for this mountain session.

Check out the photos, and look through my blog for the beautiful images from their wedding:

Engagement ~ Aaron & Darlene

Darlene is one of my most beautiful best friends whom I met while working at Starbucks for three years after graduating high school. She is so beautiful inside and out, such an inspiration for life, and such a wonderful friend, sister, daughter, and MOM. She is SUCH a great mom to her children, and I am so happy for her engagement to a wonderful person who loves her children just as much as she does.

I will post more about her and Aaron later on as I show you all both her bridal and wedding images, but for now, here's some cute engagement shots we got:

Model ~ Brytny

All thanks to the world of Photography, my good friend Brytny and I have come together once again after I was once known as "the girl at the bus stop." Story: when we were both in elementary school, Brytny lived down the street from me. So of course, we rode the same bus and the bus picked us up from the same spot. Well, I guess sweet little Brytny was lost and didn't know where to go, and I showed her where the bus picked us up, and I befriended this cute little blonde girl with glasses on the corner. I remember that, and so does she. How sweet this girl is. Now, we work together.. both to take photos, and I usually work with her whenever we both do modeling gigs at bridal expos for Style Bride (I'll have to post more about that later--we'll be doing one here in a few weeks, it's a TON of fun!!).

For months and months Brytny Marquez and I have been talking about getting together to do a shoot--even before I ever went to Nashville or ever decided to start taking this business seriously. So finally, out of the blue, we make an "official date" for a shoot.

For this shoot to be lurking around in my head for so long, we came up with several ideas. There was one spot in particular I wanted to take her, and it was to what seems to be an unfinished dam of some sort, or flood director behind CSU-Pueblo. We waited until sunset because I wanted to get some dramatic light shots.. and wow, was the outcome incredible!

Brytny was my second "serious" model that I've worked with, and she was incredible at posing. She was so willing to do anything that I asked her to, and she knew exactly what worked right and what looked best.

Take a gander at these pics, and expect more in the near future from this gorgeous girl!

And SORRY there are so many... I really could not choose!
